Being very popular, gambling in Philippines is absolutely legal and contributes greatly to the revenue of the government.

The Gambling Activities are overlooked by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation or PAGCOR. This licensing agency controls almost all gambling forms in the country, with the exception of Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport (This region has the authority to issue gambling licenses and the criteria used to award them are also different from the ones used by PAGCOR.).

PAGCOR is not only the regulatory body for gambling in the Philippines. It also employs more than 11,000 people and its holdings gather casinos, VIP slots clubs & bingo halls. It is however not a monopoly, since 4 others companies provide gambling services in the Philippines which are still regulated by PAGCOR.

Nevertheless, there is no dearth of Cities with Casinos or number of casinos for that matter in Philippines. Approximately 28 cities in Philippines have gambling facilities for a total of 57 Casinos and about 44 Casino Hotels averaging a total of 105 poker tables, 1,032 table games and 8,567 slot machines.
